Village Cinema Festival Special - Moulin Rouge

TUESDAY 27th June Village Hall - 7:00pm for 7.30pm show

£4 per ticket

Get in the Festival mood with a special themed Village Cinema presentation of Mouline Rouge. This fabulous visual feast features classic songs with novel interpretations set in absinthe-soaked Paris. Rated 12A. Tickets from the Village Shop.

Village Voices

WEDNESDAY 28th June, Holy Cross Church - 6.30pm for 7pm show

Singers Free - Under 16's £2 - General £8

Join us as we take over the village church and pack it full with uplifting singing from various village choirs, including The Magnificent AK47, The Ashton Keynes Village Choir, The School Choir and  Siren Sisters.

(tickets necessary for all because the capacity and sheer number of singers - pre-booking is essential)

Please note earlier than normal for show start at 7pm

Landmarks Creative Writing

THURSDAY 29th June, The White Hart, 7.30pm

Free event

Landmarks Creative Writing Competition was open to Ashton Keynes residents, family and friends of all ages as part of the 2017 Ashton Keynes Music and Arts Festival.

A pick of the best entries has been published as a booklet. A selection will be read at the Meet the Author Literary Evening (listed below) and is published in book form, cost £2.

Literary Evening + Meet the Author + Village Writing

THURSDAY 29th June The White Hart from 7pm for 7.30pm start

We are very excited to incorporate our very first Literary Evening as part of this year's festival to promote and support the written and spoken creative arts that take place in the village.

Come and meet Wiltshire author Vanessa Lafaye at this not-to-be-missed Literary Evening. Vanessa will read from her latest novel of At First Light, to be published in June, and explain the historical events that inspired her. Read her first novel, Summertime, before the event and have the chance to ask her your own questions!

Participants of the Village Creative Writing Group will also be reading and discussing contributions to our "Landmarks Creative Writing".

Friday Night Live

FRIDAY 30th June Bradstone Marquee from 7.30pm till late!

Landmarks Creative Writing (under 16s)

SATURDAY 1st July Bradstone Marquee from 10.30 - 1pm

Free event

Junior writers, poets and reporters will show off their writing skills in the junior section of Ashton Keynes’ first ever junior creative writing workshop.  

 

These entries will be published in a booklet and displayed as part of "Ashton Keynes Shows Off" (listed below).

Ashton Keynes Shows Off

SATURDAY 1st July Bradstone Marquee from 10.30 - 1pm

Free event

Another innovative event for this year's festival and a chance for everyone to share their artistic passions.

Villagers with a talent or hobby can ‘show it off’ and inspire others. You'll get a table and a space in the Bradstone Marquee on Saturday afternoon.

Open Gardens and Studios PLUS the Scarecrow Tour of Ashton Keynes

SATURDAY 1st July Whole Village, 1pm - 4pm

Maps £2 from Bradstone or The White Hart on the day

Be inspired by fabulous private gardens and artists' studios around the village which open for the afternoon. Or take the Scarecrow tour, and enjoy the sense of humour and creativity of AK villagers as they display home-made and fancy-dressed scarecrows outside their houses. 

Please note that Ruth Britton and Lucille Lonsdale's studios will have extended opening hours including Thursday 29th and Friday 30th June, 1.30 - 5pm. Click the Find Out More button for more information and addresses.

The Big Saturday Night Do

SATURDAY 1st July Bradstone Marquee from 7.00pm for prompt 7:30 seated for serving

£35 per ticket

An evening that promises to deliver great food and amazing live music with dancing in the Bradstone marquee.  

 

This event is always a sell out, so watch this space...tickets will go on sale from the beginning of May.

The Big Brunch

SUNDAY 2nd July Bradstone Marquee from 10.30am - 1pm

£10 adults £8 children (under 16)

Enjoy being entertained with uplifting live music you as you enjoy breakfast and a buck's fizz to fix your hangover!

This is another hugely popular event combing great music from one of the stars of every festival since the very beginning, The Big Brunch Band and other local acts performing in a wonderful relaxed atmosphere.

Picnic in the Park

SUNDAY 2nd July Bradstone Marquee, 1:00pm - 4.30pm

Free Event

A family picnic on the grass at Bradstone.  You'll be entertained by families and children and includes a performance from the children on Ashton Keynes Primary School.  

 

If your child would like to perform, drop us a line, everyone is very welcome from beginner musicians to soloists and family groups.  

Compline

SUNDAY 2nd July Holy Cross Church, 6:30pm

Unwind from the excesses of another great festival with the beautiful sound of a church service being sung in its entirety.
